Description:  Westbound Control Signal "JY JCT." Ex-GN "Surry Cut Off". Track diverging to the left is the "Coal Connection Track" it is a two mile track that connects to the KO Sub. this track allows all coal trains that come down the Hillsboro to head west on the KO and onto the jamestown Sub without having to run the train into Dilworth and run the power around it.

Description:  Looking east. Track Diverging right is the "Elevator" track eventualy coming back into the siding. the track coming in from behind left is the "Old South Berea" siding. the "New South Berea" siding is the siding just ahead. A very odd area of tracks. Cell Phone shot.

Ex-NP Casselton/Mayville line.
Title:  Ex-NP Casselton/Mayville line.
Description:  Looking West On the Ex-GN Surrey Cut-Off. the NP built a line north from Casselton to Mayville in Approx. 1884, the building of the line was a breach of an agreement the NP and GN had so the GN ended up with the NP line heading north out of Casselton, they quickly built a short line segment from the Whapeton line up to this line. There was never a diamond as the N-S line was built before the Surry Cut-Off was built, once the Cut-Off was built A wye was installed to the southern line to Amenia, the East leg of said wye is the first switch, the second switch heads north on the Ex-NP to Arthur.

Description:  Looking North on the Ex-NP Casselton-Mayville line. the NP built a line north from Casselton to Mayville in Approx. 1884, the building of the line was a breach of an agreement the NP and GN had so the GN ended up with the NP line heading north out of Casselton. There was never a diamond as the NP Line was built before the Surry Cut-Off was built, which can bee seen at the very bottom of the pic. once the Cut-Off was built the a Wye was installed to the southern line and a switch was installed to the northern line.

Description:  Built on the Ex-NP line north from Casselton to Mayville in 1884. The line was a breach of land agreement between the NP and GN so the GN ended up with the line, the GN heritage is obviously evident in the sign.

Description:  Westbound on the GN "Surrey Cut-Off" the was the short cut the GN built from Fargo to Minot. the old route was to go north from Fargo to Grand Forks before heading west to Minot. The line coming in from the right used to continue south to Absaraka where it met the GN line from Whapeton to Page. once the Cut-Off was built the line was abandoned from Absaraka to Erie.

Description:  Westbound on the Old GN "Surrey Cut off" looking at the switch to head north to Page and points beyond. in 1912 when the Cut-Off was built the Line from Wahpeton ND, to Casselton ND, onto Devils Lake and eventualy ending at Hansboro ND was crossed. so the GN rebuilt the area to look like this, there was never a diamond as the GN "Main" was to come from Casselton, to Ayr, up to Nolan, and then west on the new Cut-Off.

Description:  Looking SNorth on the Ex-GN "Lakota Branch" A branch line frRm Lakota ND to Sarles ND. There used to be a diamond with the Soo "Wheat Line" from Theif River Falls MN, to Drake ND. Today the GN Line is torn out from 3.75 miles north lf Lakota to Bisbee JCT, where this GN line crossed the northern portion of the Soo "Wheat Line". Today the Ex-Soo trackage and the remaining GN trackage north of Bisbee JCT is operated by the Northern Plains RR out of Fordville$ND.
