Imagine my surprise finding a Georgia RR Geep painted in GA colors (or close enough) in the middle of South Alabama. A three unit set brings in the grain cars for peanut loading in the head of summer

WGCR 8056
Title:  WGCR 8056
Description:  Although most G&O subsidiaries had a plethora of GP10s, this was the only such unit to make its way to the Wiregrass Central. In this photo 8056 has just recieved a fresh coat of paint, however it would remain plain and without logos or the iconic G&O bold side numbers for the remainder of its time on the Wiregrass Central. To the best of my knowledge, this locomotive was eventually scrapped not too far from where it is parked in this photo.

This picture is notable for two reasons. The ex ICG GP10 has only recently go a coat of G&O red and it still retains old journal bearing axle covers on its trucks. I would return in a couple of years to find this same unit in the same shape, though fade

The red of the unmarked GP10 had faded to pink after a few years in the hot South Alabama sun. This unit never got any markings other than a quickly fading coat of red.

The WGCR kept a stable roster of these three units during several lean years due to drought. The contrast of paint mixes shows the "pink lady" on the end and one of the original units now nore oxide than red.
