Frisco 2-8-0 Consolidation #1221 still looks in great working order at this late date. Built by Burnham, Wms, & Co (Baldwin predecessor) in March of 1907, it remained on the diagram books until 3/1/1947 before disappearing. Obviously this picture proves that it worked for a few more before being scrapped. Specs - coal burner, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x30" cylinders, engine weight of 198,000 lb, tractive effort of 43,300 lb. Arthur B. Johnson photo |
