| Missing its bell, whistle and whitelined its number all tells the sad tale that it sits in a scrap line at the Proviso yard in Proviso, IL. Built by Lima in September of 1916 as NYC 3939, it was renumbered in August of 1936 to NYC #1439. The loco lasted until being retired in June of 1954 and sold for scrap in October of 1954. An unknown photographer took probably what is its last photo. |
