Here is page 68 of a 78-page booklet published by Harry P. Albrecht entitled "Those Amazing Class 'D' Locomotives." It was issued originally in June of 1981. Partial Caption: "This is the same engine as shown on page 67 now in Pittsburgh, Pa., in 1911." Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1053, a D-16B (4-4-0) "American" built in Juniata during 1906, rebuilt as a D-16SB in November of 1914, and retired in March of 1933 after 27 years of faithful service. |
