Here is the 28th of 32 color prints of calendar art works that were commissioned by the Pennsylvania Railroad from 1925 through 1958. Shown here is Grif Teller's painting entitled "Crossroads Of Commerce." It was published originally in 1953. Depicted in the center (F to R) are PRR engine #5898 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5898 was constructed in March of 1951. Also depicted (R to L) are PRR engine #2012 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All are BF-16's built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works and rated at 1,600 horsepower each. #2012 was constructed in February of 1952 and retired in January of 1967. |
