Here is the third of six original successive photos recording the odd odyssey of old #39. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #39, an L-1S (2-8-0) "Mikado" built in Juniata during 1915 and retired in September of 1954 after 39 years of faithful service. Here, it's been uncoupled from the two passenger cars and is about to pick-up a hopper car that's partially visible at the left.
