PRR 2416, AF-25, 1965
4th Street. Here is an original telephoto view that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 11 September 1965. Shown here is PRR engine #2416 and two other units whose numbers are not recorded. #2416 is an AF-25 built by the American Locomotive Company in 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are idling-away, waiting for a new crew to drive them up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. Two PRR passenger cars await reconditioning on the other side of the mainline. Photo taken from the 4th Street Bridge.
