Fine example of the quality work that the Norfolk & Western Roanoke shops produced. This "Mountain-type" 4-8-2 was built by them in June of 1916 as part of the K1 class. The class lasted until the end of steam came for the NW - between 1957-58. Robert P. Morris photo credit. |
