PRR Classification Yards, 1960
Everyday. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad property in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 2 August 1960. At the far right is the Bedford-Cumberland Branch Line, which now serves as the Everett Railroad's right-of-way. In the center are the tracks of the eastbound receiving yard, often filled with freight cars marshalled for reconditioning at the PRR's Samuel Rea Shop. Visible in the center distance are the old wooden water tower (the last vestage of the Steam Age in Hollidaysburg) and the western end of the Samuel Rea Shop. This photo was taken from the southern end of the Union Street Bridge.
