Cool shot of a backward running MP 15 on a passenger train. There were(are) wyes at both KO and Montauk, so it would have been possible for the power to turn at either location. Mid day KO trains typically got FA's, but there could have been some sort of equipment failure that resulted in this arrangement-or possibly the crew just didn't want to make the effort to turn the power. If I had to guess, almost 40 years later, I'd go with Montauk. An interesting feature of this train, and a good catch for you, is one of the four 2100 series bar/generator cars head out.
