There were some old short line and predecessor subsidiary lines that CR inherited when it took on the assets of the big roads. One such was the Cambria & Indiana, a coal mining line in western PA. It was more common to see these cars in that area, though sometimes one would escape. I got lucky, seeing this on northbound to Ludlowville on the Ithaca Branch. These cars were already old, and did not have much service life left. |
