| The track that once crossed the bridge here is the old passenger mainline to downtown Springfield. The last regular user of this portion of the line was the Union Pacific. MP had trackage rights from Aurora to Springfield, and took this connection to get to home rails after the MP Springfield Branchwas abandoned. When UP sold the Springfield trackage to the Missouri and Northern Arkansas, the trackage rights were converted to haulage rights. |
