The Miami yard engine makes up a New York train as I arrive on the Silver Star. Note the Slumbercoach. They were a staple on the Florida trains and the New York-Chicago trains, and were a really economical way to get a bed, however small, instead of sleeping in a coach seat. As I recall, the extra charge was around $15. |
