In this recent reprint of an older negative, this camelback ten wheeler built by Baldwin in 1913-14 sits in the Elizabethport yard waiting for the supplies and passengers to be loaded. It was a class L-7as with 69" drivers and developed a 210 psi boiler pressure for its 23"x28" cylinders. The engine tipped the scales at 225,600 lb and it could apply a tractive effort of 38,318 lb. The month and day in 1936 is approximate. Robert A. Schrum photo credit |
