Union Pacific's LJL 41 (Provo Switcher) heads south (Railroad West) at Pleasant Grove with a simple 5 car train on Union Pacific's Provo Industrial Lead. This line once served as UP's Provo-Salt Lake City Mainline prior to 1985 when in November of'that year,Union Pacific moved all it's through Provo traffic onto the parallel Rio Grande Mainline to the west. At that time,Union Pacific's original route from Provo-Salt Lake City was knocked fown to branch line status. Here UPY 556 and 804 head west and will pick up a cut of tanker cars on the old Pipemill Siding just a mile south of this location. |
