| The CHW is still officially listed as an independent railroad but it has been 100% owned by the Norfolk & Western since the early 1950s and is today 100% owned by Norfolk Southern. Why the CHW is still an indepedent railroad, I have no idea, but it must have had something to do with ICC Regulations - or perhaps Virginia corporate law rules (Virginia has strict anti-takeover rules).
