Amtrak baggage-dormitory car 9992 was built by Pullman-Standard in 1947 as Santa Fe 3479 and was fitted with a high-level transition piece in 1956. It was photographed on train No. 4 - the westbound SOUTHWEST LIMITED - at the Santa Fe station in Winslow, Arizona. The 9992 was one of six similar Amtrak cars (9990-9995) and was retired in October 1981. |
