CB&Q XM-12 10381
Title:  CB&Q XM-12 10381
Description:  CB&Q XM-12 10381, Cicero, Illinois, October, 1979, photo by Chuck Zeiler. From the book, "CB&Q Color Guide To Freight And Passenger Equipment", by Michael J. Spoor: "In March 1967, Havelock, using many of the same components that went into the XM-7's, constructed # 10380-10399, Class XM-12. These cars also had an inside length of 60'5" but capacity dropped to 6,000 cu.ft. because the vertical ribs were on the interior of the cars. Like the XM-7's, two 8' sliding doors and Hydra Cushion underframes were installed". Original doors would have had one white stripe running from the lower left to upper right across both doors. This indicated that the car was equipped with Evans DF2 belt rails. All 20 cars were originally assigned to the Pontiac Motor Division, Pontiac, Michigan.
