Description: |
The morning of October 27, 1967 finds Western Pccific's newest power resting between assignments at the Roper Yards of the D&RGW in Salt Lake City. The new U30B's are less than a month old but already are piling up the mineage between Oakland and Salt Lake City. These are Western Pacific's first order of GE road power, all five of which were shipped out of the Erie plant in the second half of September, 1967. Interesting features of the new U30B's are the EMD trucks, Westinghouse 26L air brakes, Pyle-National DCFV red and white oscillating lights located on the short nose* and fuel tanks of 3250Ýfallon capacity which enable the power to run all the way from Okland to Salt Lake City. |
