PRR 8849, AS-16MS, c. 1956 |
Description: |
Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8849, an AS-16MS road switcher built by the American Locomotive Company in December of 1951 and rated at 1,600 horsepower. Looks to me like it's pulling a railfan excursion train. Wave to the Engineman! The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. |

PRR 8849, AS-16MS, 1964 |
Description: |
RR City. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad locomotives in Altoona, Pennsylvania,#on 25 April 1964. Shown here is PRR engine #8849, an AS-16MS built by the American Locomotive Company in 1951 and rated at 1,600 horsepower. It is operating near the Altoona Passenger Station, just after the arrival of a nine-car westbound mail-express train pulled by four EMD "E" units. |
