KCS Train 53 |
Description: |
In the shadow of Causeway Boulevard, Kansas City Southern train No. 53 was turning off of the KCS and onto the Norfolk Southern BACK BELT at Shrewsbury Junction in Metairie, Louisiana. Powered by GP40 777, F3A slug 4050 and GP40-2 797, the train was on its way from Dallas to the Seaboard System's Gentilly Yard in eastern New Orleans. The little building with bullet-proof glazing was used by NS interchange clerks to do their paperwork for cars going to and from the KCS and ICG. |
