NH 529 |
Description: |
The 529 comes to life at Chase yard in the Waterville section of Waterbury. This was the RMNE/Naugatuck RR's first year in Waterbury, and the Chase yard is still under construction. The track 5 is in and already filled with equipment (behind the train), but track 6 has yet to materialise, it will go in where the trench is to the left of the train. |

NH 529 |
Description: |
529 emits a large white cloud, a sign that it needs some work. The RS-3 got a good "going-over" not long after this, with the aid of none other than "Mr. Alco" himself, the late George Hockaday. The 529, since then, just emits a small gray puff upon starting, and has been "Old reliable", until just about a month ago, when she finally suffered an eddy current clutch failure. As soon as some alignment problems are straightened out, she should be back in service. |

For the first couple of years of the Naugy's operations, JAYMAR Crafts was good enough to share their parking lot with us, and this was where passengers embarked and debarked, until we could get the station in Thomaston into reasonable condition to start operating out of there. Of course, the fact that a certain number of OUR patrions also became JAYMAR patrons, was not lost on the owner. |
