Album Info:Warning these photos are very graphic. These photos are of the head on collision in Dixiana, SC that occurred at two thirty am between Amtrak's Silver Star Train 91, and CSX Q210. Q210's equipment was awaiting departure in the Silica Sand siding without a crew when a reversed switch allowed Amtrak 91 to enter the siding. The speed at impact was 50 MPH and pushed the freight train back fifteen feet. Engines involved CSX 130, CSX 36, and Amtrak 47. Rest in peace to both Mike Sella-Conductor, and to Mike Kempf-Engineer who perished in the crash.

Description:  This picture was taken from the US 321 bridge. As you can see in front of CSX 130 there is the lead truck of Amtrak 47. By the radiator of the CSX 36 you can see the torn off cab remains of the Amtrak engine.
