Album Info:It's amazing to this rail fan that an Alco RS-3 road switcher built in 1952 is still soldiering on in revenue freight service in 2016. I had the great good fortune to catch and chase a freight move on Friday, April 8. BKRR had ten loads - 8 fertilizer, and 2 feed to transport from their interchange with Pan Am Railways in Eagle Bridge, NY up to a feed mill at Greenwich Jct. Power was BKRR 4116, painted in the livery of the Greenwich & Johnsonville RR, a BKRR predecessor. With the train ambling along at about 10 mph it's an easy chase - I could always beat the train to the next grade crossing, and I usually had enough time to switch lenses to fit the preferred photo angle. A great day train chasing in Washington County, NY.
