Oops
Title:  Oops
Description:  The cut of cars that CR 9943 was pulling across County Rd had a=small problem. The Southern box car right behind the engine picked a switch and wound up spread over two tracks. They had another yard engine pull the rest of the train back into#the yard, and commenced tryng to rerail the box, but an hour later, they were still having at it, since it did not seem to want to get back up on the rails. Just another day at the"office!!

Title:  Lucky catch
Description:  I rode the connecting train from Suffern to Port Jervis to get the miles over the Graham Line this cold day in 1984. When I got to PO, OIBU was there waiting on a crew change. Just lucky, considering all the times Id been there and not seen a road train. As usual, the sun is elusive.

Jeff Junction
Title:  Jeff Junction
Description:  TV 303 has just crossed Starrucca Viaduct and is now at CP Lanesboro, the location of Jefferson Jct, where the Erie had a line connecting to the D&H Penn Division. It has been only recently taken up as it was used to access the part of the D&H still in place while the Belden Hill project enlarged the tunnel. The right of way is now hidden under the snowpack to the right of the tall pole to the right of the train, never to see a passing train again.

Crew change and go
Title:  Crew change and go
Description:  Conrails stack trains got out of Croxton overnight, but were usually held at Sloatsburg for the inbound commuter trains. This got them to Port Jervis around mid morning. Its about 1030 and TV 303 is making its crew change and will be on its way up the Delaware momentarily. Of note, the obelisk on the mountain top in the distance is the highest point in New Jersey, in appropriately named High Point State Park. It sits at 1803 feet above sea level.

Title:  Classic color
Description:  The tree, of course. New England has nothing on NY and PA when it comes to fall color, as this flaming orange maple shows. CR blue adds to the scene as TV 301 crosses Starrucca Viaduct

Hiding out in Hillburn
Title:  Hiding out in Hillburn
Description:  BUOI is working the Hillburn yard, just west of Suffern on the former Erie, just 31 miles from Jersey City. The third unit, 6640 shares a number with an ex BN F45 on the NYSW. I saw both within a couple of weeks of each other. Never caught them at the same time, though.

Work train
Title:  Work train
Description:  A work train is waiting out the weekend on the siding at Callicoon. There were still quite a few U23Bs in service at that time, and it was common to see them doing every kind of work. The EL hopper head out is a nice touch.

Easing on down
Title:  Easing on down
Description:  TV 301 rolls down the hill from Gulf Summit at Schoolhouse Rd, now far enough north to have a good layer of snow on the ground.

Off the bridge
Title:  Off the bridge
Description:  TV 301 rolls off the East Branch bridge over the Delaware. I always enjoyed seeing how much clearance the stacks had on this bridge. It was amazing how much clearance the Erie had on some of its structures.

On the bridge
Title:  On the bridge
Description:  One of the larger rivers the Erie crossed on its way to Binghamton was the Lackawaxen River at Lackawaxen, which it crossed on this truss bridge, where we see TV 301 this gloomy day.
